The CSV Viewer opens a file as a table and reports the number of rows and columns, the detected delimiter, and how many rows have a different column count than the widest row. Uneven rows usually mean a stray delimiter or unquoted text, which is worth fixing before sorting.
Sorting
In Sort and Filter CSV, name the column by its header or its number and choose whether to sort as text, number, or date. Text sorting is natural and case-insensitive, so "item 2" comes before "item 10". Number sorting ignores symbols such as currency signs. Date sorting uses your browser’s date parser, so prefer ISO dates like 2024-03-31 for predictable results.
Sorting is stable, so rows with equal values keep their original order, and empty or non-numeric values sort last.
Filtering
Filter by contains, equals, starts or ends with, greater or less than, and empty or not empty. Numeric conditions skip cells that are not numbers. You can filter and sort in one pass; the filter is applied first.
Limits
The tool works on one column for sorting and one condition for filtering. For multi-column logic, run it more than once or use a spreadsheet application. Data stays in your browser.
