Optimize Images for Smaller File Sizes

Re-encode images as JPEG, WebP, or AVIF with a quality setting. Large images may be scaled down; results vary by source.

You can Process up to 10 images at a time.

Supported formats: Image formats supported by your browser, including JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG, and HEIC

Image processing runs in your browser.

How to use Format Optimizer

  1. Select an image and choose Auto, JPEG, WebP, or AVIF.
  2. For a manual format, adjust the quality value if needed. Lower quality can reduce size but may add visible artifacts.
  3. Process and compare the output with the source before using it on a website.

What to know

Images larger than 2,000 pixels on either side are scaled down by the current optimizer. Auto mode uses simple browser and image-size heuristics; it does not measure the best format for your particular site.

WebP and AVIF support depends on the browser and destination workflow. Keep an original copy and check compatibility requirements before replacing a source asset.

File handling: Image optimization is performed in your browser using image and canvas APIs. The image is not uploaded to a remote media-processing service.
