Choose the crop for its destination
A square crop can fit an avatar or tile; a landscape ratio can work for a banner; a portrait ratio can fit a vertical layout. The best crop depends on what must remain visible, so leave enough space around the subject before cutting.
Cropping removes pixels outside the selected area. Save a copy of the original in case you need another composition later.
Rotate before checking the crop
Choose the amount of rotation needed to make the subject upright. Rotating by a non-right angle creates empty canvas corners around the original image. Pixuna’s output uses PNG to preserve transparency in those areas.
After rotation, inspect the composition. The current tool applies the selected aspect ratio as a centered crop; it does not provide a movable crop boundary or let you drag the subject into position.
Crop and rotate with Pixuna
Open Crop & Rotate and select an image. Enter a rotation in degrees if needed, then select Original, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, or 9:16. Start processing and review the PNG output before downloading.
The crop is calculated from the center of the rotated image. If the subject is near an edge, this automatic crop may not be appropriate; use an editor with a draggable crop frame for precise framing.
What happens to the file?
This image tool processes the selected image in your browser. The resulting PNG may be larger than a JPEG because of its format and transparency support.
