Why PDFs deserve extra care

Contracts, IDs, tax forms, and medical records are commonly PDFs. Before using any online tool, find out whether your file leaves your device.

Two architectures

A browser-based tool reads the file in your tab and processes it with code running on your device. An upload-based tool sends the file to a server, which processes it and returns a result. The second approach is not automatically unsafe, but it means you rely on the operator’s retention, access, and security practices.

How Pixuna’s PDF tools work

Pixuna’s PDF tools process files in your browser, and the application code does not upload them. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, watch the Network tab while you run a tool, and look for any request carrying your file.

Because processing uses your device’s memory, very large files can fail, and results depend on your browser.

  • No signup or account is required.
  • Files that stay in your tab are not stored by Pixuna.
  • Analytics, if enabled, records tool events rather than file contents.

A safety checklist

Read the privacy policy, check whether a tool asks you to upload, avoid sending highly sensitive documents to services you cannot verify, and prefer tools you can inspect in the Network tab. Keep original files, and open the output before sharing it.
