Pick the output that fits

Use DOCX to Text when you only need the words, for example to count them, compare versions, or paste them into another system. Use DOCX to HTML when you want headings, lists, links, tables, bold, and italic preserved as web markup.

What the conversion keeps and drops

The converter maps Word styles to semantic HTML, so Heading 1 becomes an h1 and list paragraphs become list items. It does not reproduce page layout, fonts, colors, text boxes, headers, footers, or tracked changes. Images are removed by default to keep output small; turn on the images option to embed them as data in the HTML, which makes the file larger.

If the converter meets something it cannot translate, it lists a short note under the result.

Supported files

Only .docx files are supported. Older .doc files must be re-saved as .docx in a word processor first. Password-protected or damaged documents cannot be read and the tool will say so.

Everything runs in your browser; the document is not uploaded. Review the HTML before publishing it, since Word-generated structure can still need editing.
